Inside the Afghanistan War

Missing so much information
Essentially what this movie does is give a very quick and brief over view of some major battles that have taken place over the course of the Afghan war. It does such a poor job of taking you "inside" the war and what has been going on over the last decade. For example, it briefly goes over the story of what happened to Marcus Luttrell and his unit during Operation Redwing, but doesn't even mention them by name or the name of the operation. That was a pretty significant event and this movie talked about it for a very brief 2 minutes. They did a very poor job covering Operation Anaconda as well as other very large and important battles that have taken place. Had I not already read and watched so many other good pieces on the war, I wouldn't have learned a whole lot from this just because its so poorly put together. If you really want to learn more about what this war check out the following books etc. Most of these stories and a lot of people/authors were covered in this movie but it...

a good insight
this is one of the best documentaries i have seen on the war in Afghanistan, no holds barred as near to the enemy as you would want to be, National Geographic are masters at producing edge of your seat truthful and informing programmes, i would recommend this DvD to anybody interested in knowing how the war in Afghanistan has evolved over the last ten years.

Disappointing--lacking depth
I wanted to like this Nat'l Geographic special on the Afghan War but it was disappointing. The interviews with the soldiers are just awesome and you feel so amazed at their bravery & service. But the video gives the viewer virtually no background information on the history of Afghanistan the country, and how many times it has been invaded by outside forces (the British, the Russians and now the US), all of which have failed. I also wanted to know more about the Taliban and the structure of the tribal society of the country but none of that was really covered in the video. NGH normally does great documentaries, but I would not recommend this DVD to anyone based on what it leaves out--not what it includes which is well done.

My Classic Car: Season 16

nice selection of classics
I have watched Dennis Gage for years off and on and this is a nice show to catch some cool cars and their owners

Like
Good content and presentation. Very informational for someone interested in restoring and maintaining a car. Would like to see more specifics on restoration.

Love Dennis Gage
Glad to see this show is finally available! So much good stuff on classic cars and restorations. Dennis Gage is a great and I love getting a glimpse at Jay Leno's car collections.

Queen - Mercury Rising

Another great DVD on the legendary Queen
I've been on a Queen binge now for the last few months. I can't believe that I never heard one of their songs on the radio until 1981. They are truly the most underrated band in rock history. This DVD provided some background info that I hadn't heard before, so that alone makes it worth the purchase for me. Their concert DVDs are extraordinary, especially the concerts in Budapest (excellent sound and video), Montreal, Wembley, and Live Aid.

queen-mercury rising
liked it a lot because there are not many dvd's that zero in on Freddie mercury. it is a short documentary. I have seen some of the clips of this on other dvd's. I think days of our lives and Freddie mercury-the great pretender were better and went into more depth. bottom line is, I do not think anyone will ever truly know Freddie except for the roger, brian, john, and mary.

Freddie Mercury
I loved it. Freddie Mercury is the greatest front man in the history of music. Queen still lives on and will forever. RIP Freddie.

Protect Your Memory With Dr Neal Barnard

Excellent
As a medical professional I appreciate the summary of good research that back up his conclusions. For all of us concerned about our aging brains this gives us something to do to prevent the loss of brain functioning.

Vital information
I first saw this presentation on TV, then decided to order it and have since shared it with our children. Lifestyle changes that are based on facts are worth the effort. I've proved that some time ago, so appreciate this information.

Critical reading
We all are aware of how fragile our minds are and if we don't take care of them, we are letting in the elements that can/will cause our minds to begin to fail, rapidly. This is an excellent book along with Dr. Daniel Amen's books.

Ultrachrist!

Toothless "satire"
A "Jesus" with a whiny Brooklyn accent arrives nude in New York City (a'la "The Terminator") and has trouble getting his message to today's youth. So he puts on a spandex superhero costume and fights Jim Morrison, Dracula, Hitler and a guy in a Richard Nixon rubber mask. Then he changes the commandments to encourage casual sex to gain converts.

Let me state that I am far from religious and love a good satire, like "Election" or "American Psycho". This is too dumb and scatological to be satire. The video and audio (especially) are sub-porno quality. If you ARE deeply religious you may be offended, otherwise you will be very bored. Check out "The Life of Brian" for a religious satire with bite.

Let's Throw Sin A Curve ...
Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's ...ULTRACHRIST!

Flipping religion on its head, Ultrachrist seeks to enlighten the follies of following scripture to the letter by returning Christ to Earth 2,000 years after his death. Oh! And he's come back to usher in peace for all mankind. The trouble is that he's completely out of touch with modern society. As soon as Christ returns to Earth (ala The Terminator style), he realizes many things have changed: clothes, personal philosophy, neon signs, and, oy!, religion.

Christ (Jonathan C. Green) gets a crash course in what the world wants by first bellying up to a bar with a drunken man and discovering what's become of humanity. Discouraged but not deterred, he soon runs into Molly (Celia A. Montgomery), a young seamstress who falls for Jesus and decides to help him regain his ministry on Earth. She makes him a superhero spandex costume and poof!, the Ultrachrist is born. Running around New York in his new...

Get Ready for a Whole New CHRIST
This movie is amazing. I saw it at the Philidelphia Video Festival last year. Jesus comes back to fight sin in the twenty-first century and encounters a world much different then the way he left it 2000 years ago. Watch him fight the greatest sinners of all time: Richard Nixon, Adolf Hitler, Vlad the Impaler and Jim Morrison.

Magic Valley

Extremely morose.
Slow, depressing and morbid. This is not a movie that provides introspection, illuminates, or uplifts. Quite the opposite. An "art film?" Perhaps. I give it a big "Who Cares."

"Magic Valley"
Very good story and great acting by Scott Glenn. Good sound and editing. A bit slow but Magic Valley was the first feature film by this director. I believe Jaffe Zinn also did the script for this film and the budget was miminal. Story should be seen by teen agers to view the danger that can be realized by the "choking game" which I understand is quite common in teen agers.

Depressing waste of time, film and talent
What a depressing, poorly filmed, poorly acted and directed film. Quality at all levels was worse than a home-movie shock-factor done by strung-out kids who don't understand drama, timing, plot, tension, or even the basics of how to tell a story.

Restraint, Control & Come-A-Long Techniques: Effective Arrest & Control Techniques for Law Enforcement and Security Professionals Volume 2

An Excellent Supplement to Your Martial Arts Training!
Restraint, Control and Come-A-Long Techniques Vol. 2 is an excellent instructional DVD! It does just take up where volumn 1 left off, but adds even more great tips and inside instruction that many other DVD's don't include such as how to spin a person and autogenic breathing techniques. It is obvious that this instructor is a teacher, a true martial arts instructor. This DVD includes a thumb grab goose neck technique, split finger goose neck lock, fingers behind the back hold, over the top chicken wing lock, a four corner throw, figure four lock, how to roll over someone once you have control, and even covers pressure points. Put together with Vol. 1, this is an excellent way to supplement your training and learn the correct way to use these techniques.

This DVD is very well-shot and easy to learn from. Mr. Burrese walks you through each technique, step by step, giving you clear and easy-to-understand instructions. His presentation is wonderful, clear and easy to follow...

5 Star Winner for Burrese
Burrese has already produced a very successful series of instructional DVDs. His newest two volume set entitled, Restraint, Control & Come-A-Long Techniques is another 5 star winner. Burrese covers relevant principles for the application of the expertly demonstrated and described techniques. He presents them at full speed and in slower and up close instruction so that details of the techniques can be clearly seen, grasped and learned by the viewer. Burrese also stresses repetition practices with a partner and multiple partners so that the execution of the techniques can be utilized instinctively with surprise, speed and technical accuracy. Lastly, he emphasizes the necessity of physical conditioning, mental preparation, situational awareness, self control and the use of breathing exercises as a method to keeping your cool. I highly recommend this two volume set without hesitation.

John Fennessy

Good stuff
Burrese has a done great job presenting his go-to techniques for law enforcement and security professionals. What makes his techniques especially valuable is that he has used them repeatedly over his years working doors, body guarding, and stadium security.

The presentation is organized nicely and presented clearly, with lots of examples as to how to apply the techniques in a variety of situations. As always, Burreese's explanations are clear and informative as to how to ensure the techniques work for you, as well as how to modify them a little when the situation requires it.

I think the material is especially valuable to the many types of security professionals. For law enforcement officers, my only quibble is that some of the techniques - not all - would require an additional move to position the hands for handcuffing.

I've been teaching defensive tactics to cops and security people since 1973. I think Alain Burrese has done a wonderful job in this...

Blood And Lace [ VHS Retro Style] 1971

Superb quality release of this rare shocker!
My review pertains specifically to the "VHS Retro Style" DVD release on MOD (DVD-R) from Amazon.com.

Despite the "VHS Retro" heading (which might imply poor quality), this is actually a major studio quality transfer. The film is completely uncut, and is letterboxed at 1:85-1. Although it is listed as being 16X9, I had to use the zoom feature to fill my widescreen TV's screen. The compositions still looked correct, and I recommend using the zoom feature if you have a 16X9 widescreen TV or monitor.

The film has never been previously released in the US on commercial home video, not even on VHS, so this release is most welcome! The color is the best I've seen for this film since it played theatrically in the early 1970's.

Suffice it to say that this is a Freudian exercise in horror, set in a home for troubled youth. Unfortunately, the home's caretakers are much more troubled than the wayward teenagers, leading to chilling events. Melody Patterson...

Young and Innocent

A very nice early Hitchcock
A young writer laughs at the murder charge against him because he knows he's innocent. We know he's innocent, too. A very nice early Hitchcock. Hitch fans who look for him putting himself in the scene will spot him as a bystander holding a camera outside the courtroom door.

The Fast and the Furious (Blu-ray + Digital Copy + UltraViolet)

A very entertaining action/thriller
Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) rules the streets with his "team" in the world of illegal street races. Running a luncheonette and a garage, Dominic makes money to pay for the mortgage on his house, and keep his sister (Jordana Brewster) in school, but that money alone is not enough so he resorts to the illegal ways to keep the cash flowing. Vowing to kill himself before returning to prison, Dominic stays one step ahead of the police until he meets Brian (Paul Walker), an undercover cop investigating a series of bizarre truck heists.

The FBI believe Dominic and his crew are behind the robberies, and it's Brian's job to find enough evidence against, but putting together the case against this crew will prove to be difficult because Brian becomes friends with Dominic and starts to understand his difficult life, and at the same time he is falling in love with his sister. To make matters worse, Dominics rival Johnny Tran drops in to settle some old scores, and the list of suspects in the...

FAST, FURIOUS, and entertaining
Look. I know that most who've seen this movie (especially the teeenage boys) will automatically tell you "Yea man! It rocked! It's the best movie ever!"

Personally, I'm a tunerhead. I love suped up cars, and the whole street racing scene. I can't say how this movie can relate to the real midnight street racers, but I'm sure it's been Hollywooded up enough to go overboard a little.

But, I was expecting to see terrible acting, a bad script, a bad plot, but cool cars. In reality, the acting is very well done. The script isn't corny, the plot is entertaining, and, well...the cars speak for themselves. (Vin Diesel's Mazda RX7 in the movie just went up for bid on Ebay!) This movie, whether you're into cars, or not, is a must-see. My friends who get bored even when I mention cars and racing still loved the movie for its other aspects. I thought it was awesome, but, hey, to each his own. Why don't you go and see it to check it out?

Gets off the starting line, but falls short of finish line
THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS is a movie with an assortment of far-fetched ingerdients that combine to make up a far-fetched plot. It offers beautiful cars and obnoxious characters who combine for some impressive racing / getaway / highway-jacking scenes.

In the end, however, there is one genuinely worthwhile reason to see this movie: Vin Diesel. This is the first movie I've seen him in and I was quite taken with his acting style. He has an exceptional screen-presence, especially for a relative newcomer to the acting guild. The jury is still out on whether Diesel can play more than just a tough-guy, but even if he can't, he still plays that role very well. I'm looking forward to seeing him in TRIPLE-X.

Beyond Diesel's theatrical performance, the film does not offer a whole lot. The "hero" of the movie is a cop who is less likeable than the "villain" (played by Diesel). He also non-chalantly breaks the #1 rule in a policeman's code-of-conduct: never EVER...

The Blue Planet: Seas of Life [Blu-ray]

Don't miss this one!
There isn't a moment in these four DVD's that won't have you gazing in wonder and admiration at the effort and amazing footage captured in this series. Of all the DVD's I own, and that is no small number I assure you, this entire set never sits long enough to get more than a days worth of dust on it. I often watch an episode as I linger in bed waiting for sleep to overtake me. Equally as often, I have to switch it off so I can get sleep--it is that unendingly fascinating. No matter how many times I've watched it, the presentation and simply astounding events they have captured in this series always manage to keep my attention. To even try and relate what the hours of footage reveal would only do it an injustice. I won't even try and I'm sure others could describe it better than I. Let me say this, if you have never seen Blue Planet then you have been sorely missing out. It most certainly contains footage of the marine world that cannot be seen anywhere else. Not merely a few minutes...

Unbelievably Beautiful.
There are many reasons to own this wonderful series on DVD, but one reason stands out: The Killer Whale/Seal Pup segment of the "Coasts" DVD. The Amazon.com main reviewer mentioned this scene in his review - and with good reason. It is THE most amazing piece of wildlife footage EVER captured on film - even surpassing the National Geographic special with the Great White Sharks breaching.

If you need more reasons than that, the "Ocean World" DVD contains unbelievable footage of Sir David in a skiff right above a Blue Whale (the largest creature ever to have lived) along with a stirring segment about an orca pod pursuing a gray whale and her calf.

All of my friends - who are decidely NOT nature buffs like me -were left speechless after seeing some of the segments in this set (particularly the aforementioned ones).

The Life of Mammals DVD set by Attenborough is also terrific.

Awesome and Beautiful
I first saw Blue Planet on the Discovery channel... years ago and I absolutely fell in love with it. It is one of the most beautifully filmed documentaries and I think only Planet Earth (ironically) surpasses it in that beauty. I have also always loved David Attenborough, who has a way of really bringing the majesty of whatever you are watching into your home. This series is educational and beautiful to the point of tears. This is a must for any DVD library and I would highly recommend Planet Earth as well.

Son Of Paleface (HD Mastered) 1952

Movie is great, Amazon copy process is terrible.
As Amazon makes (copies) these DVDs on demand, their usual high quality of products is lacking. The audio and video tracks aren't synchronized - as the mouths move, but the words don't match. Extremely difficult to watch the movie. Returned first DVD for replacement, but the second one was the same. Returned that one for a refund. Will look to purchase an original, not a copy.

Silly, but fun
My husband and I like the old movies. This was a fun movie to watch with Bob Hope doing his usual comedy between the lines.

Jane Russell was made by this picture. More than THE OUTLAW
It holds up today and it is one of Bob Hope's better pictures. Roy Rogers is in this one too. One of the few movies he appears in without being a western that features him. It was one of Jane Russell's first feature films, this one and THE PALEFACE.

Not Suitable For Children [HD]

Reproductive Sex
Diagnosed with testicular cancer, a weekend-party-arranger stops to play for fun but desperate for a female willing a kid with him to produce as clocks ticked for his surgery.

Personal revelations follow such quest for fulfilling a time-sensitive goal.

It seems, this work, unwittingly, is a good parody on talking of family values and sex-as-pure-reproduction only. Accurate lovemaking-scenes add to run of a screening enriched with swearing and sexism.

Much sweeter than I expected
I thought this would be a very raunchy movie, but it turned out to have more more heart than you would think. Some people might find it slow, but I find that slower indie movies are much more realistic and easier to relate to. I will mention that it might offend some people's sensibilities. Obviously there's sex - an mildly extended blowjob scene, and some tastefully done full on sex scenes in the middle. Obviously premarital sex and babies, and treating reproduction as a business arrangement. Lastly they throw in some cocaine, which I found rather jarring and unnecessary. Still, funny movie with a core that I think a lot of people can relate to.

Okay until the ending
Overall, I liked this movie. It dealt with the polar opposite of what most movies about "baby fever" are focused on. This time it's about a guy who finds out he won't be able to have children and suddenly, he finds himself questioning what he wants out of life.

There were some very predictable parts, but that's to be expected with a movie that's meant to be a rom-com. The character development of Jonah was good through the movie. Like another reviewer stated, there were times that the movie seemed to be slow, but when dealing with the subject matter - it made sense for more "showing" versus telling to happen.

My biggest complaint was the ending. It felt unfinished. Even just a small snippet of Jonah and Stevie in the not-so-distant future would have made it feel complete. Had there been a true conclusion/finale, I would've given it 4 stars.

Tracy Anderson: Teen Meta

Not just for teens
This video comes with three different Muscular Structure sequences with a band. It also comes with 2 cardio components. I really like the backdrop of teen meta. It's so much more colorful than Metamorphosis. If you think this video is just for teens your wrong. This workout really worked my arms, legs, abs and even the cardio was pretty tough. The cardio is not as tough as Meta cardio but its a lot more fun. There is a change in music from the original Meta. It's more upbeat. I loved working out with the bands. I actually liked the Teen Meta better than the original Metamorphosis. It is definitely worth the buy even if your not a teen. The first cardio component is twenty minutes and has Tracy jumping around for twenty minutes. It's better than Meta because she step touches at times and the music makes it all more bearable. The second cardio component I have not completed because I am still learning the dance moves. She has the teens with her learning the dance steps. I...

Great TAM workout for non-teens, too!
Like the previous reviewer, I'm not a teen, but I bought this since I wanted to work my way into doing Glutecentric Metamorphosis, and thought that it would be a good transition into the longer commitment that Glutecentric requires. This is a great introduction to Tracy Anderson's muscular structure work, and you can use it regardless of your age.

The set comes with four DVDs and a band that you use for the workouts.

The cardio workout has two parts: a 20-minute segment that is just Tracy doing some freestyle dance moves, and a 10-minute segment with Tracy and one of the Tracy Anderson Method (TAM) trainers Maria doing the dance with an inner-city dance troupe. The idea is to combine both segments so that you're doing a 30-minute workout. If you've been frustrated with the lack of cueing in some of Tracy's other dance DVDs, you might like this one better since this one moves a lot more slowly and Tracy breaks things down more.

The three muscular...

Teen Meta Tracy Anderson
I was thinking about getting the Tracy Anderson method but thought it was too much money for a few discs. So when I saw the Teen Meta, I thought it would be perfect. Cheap price and it works all over the body. I had to stop so many times with this since there are so many repetitions. After doing this a few times, I am already seeing definition in my legs and I am noticing a difference in how my jeans fit.

This is a great way to get fit and tone without bulking up. Now, I must say that her Dance Cardio that is included in this is much simpler than the ones for her Metamorphosis for adults. I could not follow along with those if I tried (saw them on youtube). I am not a teen and this is the perfect workout for me, and there is no workout schedule, which I find to be good since I can rotate this in with my other workout dvds.

She does not talk at all the workouts, but if you look at the screen every now and then you will pick up on what she is doing quickly, and be...

Robot and Frank

Well worth 89 minutes of your day spending time with Robot & Frank...Langella
I looked up yesterday at my AA in-flight movie and saw that they were screening 'Robot & Frank.' I immediately began buttonholing my seatmates: "This is a really good movie." I had the good fortune of catching it during its August 2012 big screen debut and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We sought it out for two reasons. First, my wife and I love Frank Langella. [Pro tip: Check out the vastly underrated Starting Out In The Evening.]

Second, I'd caught Mr. Langella talking most informatively about the film - and about his career on stage and screen - in an interview with Fresh Air's Dave Davies. The best part: when asked why he chose to participate in the film, Langella told a fascinating story about getting sent the script, liking it, but feeling it didn't fully depict the challenges facing a man in his eighth decade. He said that he asked for a meeting with director Jake Schreier and writer...

Bitter-sweet family drama, character study and buddy movie all at once
I saw the movie "Robot & Frank" in the theatre here in Cincinnati in early September. It's taken quite a long time for the DVD release to get listed on Amazon, but here we are finally.

"Robot & Frank" (2012 release, 89 min.) brings the story, set in upstate NY "in the near future" of Frank (played by Frank Langella) who is an ex-con (a "cat burglar" as Frank puts it) in the latter stage of his life when his memory fails him at times. Living alone has become a challenge and one day Frank's son buys him a robot who can be a do-it-all butler for Frank. Then a strange thing happens: after initially resisting the robot as much as possible, Frank discovers he actually likes the robot's help and, even more important, its companionship. Soon thereafter, Frank concots a plan to commit one last heist, with the help of the robot. At that point we are not even half-way into the movie, and to reveal more would certainly ruin your viewing experience. You'll just have to see for yourself...

HUMANITY IN THE MACHINE
Frank Langella is an actor whose talents are rarely noted it seems. Some folks don't even know who you're talking about when his name is mentioned and that's a shame. Those of us old enough to remember will think of him as Dracula. A younger generation might consider him Nixon. The thing is he's been around turning out great performances for years and doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. His latest out on DVD proves that.

In ROBOT & FRANK Langella stars as Frank, an ex-jewel thief in the near future when things are changing as they always do. A cantankerous sort, Frank has been left by his kids to fend for himself away from family. They still try to make his life as comfortable as possible but at the same time have little to do with him. Case in point is the new item Frank's son Hunter (James Marsden) has brought to him.

To make sure that he's taken care of Hunter has just purchased a robot to be Frank's companion and caretaker. The robot has numerous...

The Suckers/The Love Garden

Trashtastic Double Feature release from my new favorite company VINEGAR SYNDROME
My favorite genre queen of exploitation is the smoking hot Barbara Mills. Her sex scenes look like she's having some real steaminess with her enjoyment. First off I have the SWV dvd-r of Love Garden and this transfer blows it away. I had never seen The Suckers before and I absolutely loved it. The acting in both films is quite good. There is a lengthy believable rape scene in The Suckers that may offend some so be aware of that if that decides your purchase. Overall this is a high reccommend for fans of trash cinema. I will continue to support this company as they seem to be releasing films that Something Weird Video/Image Entertainment could never release.

Alright!
I applaud Vinegar Syndrome for releasing films that no one else would touch and I also appreciate that most of them are 70's explotation and sexploitation films. It's like I'm reliving my teenage years all over again. They take the utmost care in the films' restorations and always show the films in their actual theatrical ratio. They may be the new kid on the block, but they are a welcome addition to old fogies like me!

Get this "roughie" to see Laurie Rose
Almost 40 years ago, I took my date to a drive-in to see some forgettable artsy foreign costume period piece whose title escapes me. When "The Suckers" appeared on the screen, I assumed it was a preview, but it in fact went on for an entire reel. Wrong movie or not, it was actually kind of interesting, so I was disappointed when it was followed by the second reel of the costume drama. My date and I, seemingly the only people in the place to notice the incongruity, suffered through the rest of the scheduled flick.

So ever since, I've hoped "The Suckers" would appear on VHS or DVD so I could find out what happened. I found a trailer for it from Something Weird Video, but imdb.com didn't list the movie, and several inside sources stated confidently that it had been forever lost.

From seeing the trailer, I am quite sure that my date would have been horrified had "The Suckers" continued past the first reel. It is a fine example of what was called, in those days before...

The Kitchen [HD]

Entertaining, with a few surprising scenes!
You will feel like a part of the ensemble cast, including a number of quirkly and sometimes, laugh-out-loud characters that may remind you of a few people you know!

I DO wish they had left out use of the tobacco drug; absolutely NO reason to have smoking in this movie! Other than that, I was surprised to see one of the sexual scenes (though nothing explicit shown, rather bold!) which was included in this type of film.

Not for kids, but teens and older should find something to talk about in, "The Kitchen."

Loved it!!!!!
Loved it! Great cast and music. Funny and fast moving. Definitely worth the watch. Sit back and enjoy. Highly recommend.

Crowd pleaser with a character driven ride driving it
REally enjoyed the film. The ride we take centered around where every party ends up, the kitchen, is nothing less than entertaining. Laura Prepon is warm and delighting as is the cast that hangs out with her. Laugh out loud moments, tender moments, revelations for all ---- well worth watching with your date.

Horrible quality
Is this a bootleg?

The quality is SO bad I'm suspicious of the other review.

STAY AWAY unless you like to throw away your money.

OUTSTANDING MOVIE,
I have been waiting for this for years seen it on VHS and love it the first time I seen it...Great acting and story line. Its more of a Women's Prison movie then Horror. But any Horror fan would love this movie....

Just one thing the DVD Does not play on a regular DVD player so I had to watch it on my computer Yukk It might be that I don't have a blue ray player otherwise it was worth the money .... I read about by other reviews that this might be a bootleg. I thought the quality was very good..

Enjoy this great film....

another great release by amazon
Country singer Rachel (Haynes) is arrested and charged with murder and placed in prison. Psychiatric sessions are run by the sadistic Dr. Kline, whose idea of mental health is to erase the patient's personality and completely replace it with a new one through brainwashing.
Human Experiments is less than the sum of its rather promising parts. That said, it does deserve more than to be one of the few totally unavailable Video Nasties.
Although passed uncut for cinema by the u.k. BBFC the uncertified video appeared briefly on the UK list of video nasties in 1984. To date it has never been released since.not in the uk anyway..
the amazon vhs retro collection is a great idea and were seeing some realy hard or unavailable stuff being released, even the retro covers are hard to find these days
so what you actually get is an official release of human experiments (dvd-r format)
a great cover (original uk version) and good quality picture and audio.

Confessions From The Grassy Knoll: The Shocking Truth

Reassessment of the Assassination of President Kennedy
This documentary has good production values. The images are sharp and clear. The narration is at an even pitch and pace and highly consistent throughout the film.

I own several other film documentaries regarding President Kennedy's murder, investigation, and the aftermath. Instead of merely telling the audience about agents who were present at the Kennedy autopsy, this documentary interviews one of them, Agent Sibert (Ret.). The retired agent is quite peeved that neither he nor his partner were called as witnesses by the Warren Commission, and that staff attorney Arlen Specter chose to term their famous report of the post mortem, "mistaken."

There is a good interview of LtCol Daniel Marvin of US Army Special Forces who was contacted by the CIA through one its agents to take the contract to kill LtCmdr William Pitzer, the US Navy officer who filmed the autopsy and took photos of the entire proceeding, including the spectator gallery during the Kennedy...

Single bullet theory SHATTERED......
This latest dvd from Wim Dankbaar reveals that 2 FBI agents witnessed the autopsy of JFK,noting who was there and all the wounds in detail. The shot in the back did not exit his body, only went in about 2 inches at a downward angle and another FBI agent found this bullet on Kennedy's stretcher !!!,so no more magic bullet theory, the evidence in writing from the FBI themselves
and Hoover ignored it,I wonder why.Two shells found in Book Depos.,later changed to three. No prints on rifle say FBI,later found
after LHO had died.Comdr.Pitzer who had copies of the film taken at the autopsy was put on a CIA hit list and later died very
suspiciously, where is that film? Also written evidence from the embalmer of JFK stating that he plugged a small hole in the right
temple area.

Grassy Knoll Confessions
I was looking forward to hearing from normal, ordinary, every-day American people that were there at the time, but I guess that is something that will never happen.

I guess that the title is true in one respect because there is confessions from the grassy knoll, but they come from people involved with the mafia, F.B.I. agents, C.I.A., historical footage of the assassination and the time leading up to the event, and after.

There is some of James Files confession, which was proven by Zack Shelton (a retired F.B.I. Special Agent) to be correct in full, and also evidence by forensic experts, medical people and authors.

This dvd brings forth more evidence on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, so it deserves five stars for being up-front with the evidence. I would like to get a dvd with the full confession of James Files, as I have never heard it in full.

I am in the same opinion as Richard Stilling (retired F.B.I. Special Agent),...

Stevie Nicks: Through the Looking Glass

A decent overview of Stevie's career
"Stevie Nicks ~ Through The Looking Glass" is a surprisingly well done documentary on the career of Stevie Nicks. It covers the years 1966 until 2013. Along the way a ton of vintage video clips, interviews and performances, and photos are shown. New interviews are done with producer Keith Olsen, Rick Vito, Ken Caillet and a few others. Stevie herself is shown in archive interview footage. For the most part this is a good overview of her career, if you're a long time fan you won't learn anything new really, but it's a worth a look. It's two hours long, but the first hour alone covers the albums "Buckingham Nicks" thru "Tusk" (1973-1979). The next 55mins cover "Bella Donna" thru "Street Angel" (1981-1994) and the last five minutes brings us up to day very quickly. It's done better than expected and the vintage footage (most of which is probably out on YouTube) is a plus.

Skip it
I've been a Stevie fan for 34 years, so trust me when I say that I'm one of those rabid fans who buys every and all things
'Mac. While there were some pics and clips I hadn't seen before, a lot of it was recycled interview segments. Recent interviews were not with Stevie and were flat. It covered a great deal of her work with the band, but very little of her solo work and completely glazed over the last ten years.

Save your money. It's pretty bad when this rabid fan starts to fall asleep during the viewing of this DVD.

Cute, Quaint Documentary
Being a Stevie collector since 1986, there is not much more to learn or see. But, this is a great add for the collection with lots of interviews both from Stevie but mostly about her from Producers, Critics, and Rick Vito. It was nice to have Rick Vito there as someone whos actually created and performed along side Stevie. Nice selection of photos and concert clips made the 2 hours fly by. Definitely for those who are collector's already, but for newbies I would suggest the book "Read Between my Lines" or watch VH1 Behind the Music as they are much more in depth. Enjoyed it though!

Luster

Worth checking out Luster
Got an early look at this film and I found it to be a fun and wild ride of a movie. Billy Burke plays a crazy pawn shop owner and there are a lot of recognizable faces that pop up throughout the movie. It is a really cool take on the Jekyll and Hyde mythology. If you are a fan of independent cinema, you should take the time to watch this one.

FIND YOUR DARK SIDE
This is a 2010 film repackaged. Thomas (Andrew Howard) owns a design studio and has trouble sleeping. As it turns out this is a modern Jekyll and Hyde film. Thomas doesn't remember what his other half does at night, but he leaves him notes and messages on his phone.

There is talk radio chatter in the background that connects to the film. Normally I like this stuff as being clever, but this one is borderline. The acting was decent. Good characters. The plot didn't keep up with the rest of the film. The film has a quirky style to it. It is listed as a horror and indeed the film has horror elements such as blood and killing, but I did feel it as a horror as much as I did a thriller.

Worth a rental.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, male rear nudity (Andrew Howard).

Down the Shore

Childhood Scars, Adult Disambiguation
DOWN THE SHORE is one of those little sensitive films that seems like it is lightweight until the secrets of the story begin to leak. It is a film about thwarted human relations that have a core of ill-define tragic misconceptions. It is well written (by Sandra Jennings), well directed (by Harold Guskin) and happens to provide a showcase for some inordinately gifted actors who usually are not given the attention they deserve.

The film opens in Paris where a handsome Jacques (the very impressive Italian actor Edoardo Costa) is cranking a carousel for children in a little park. Observing him is a winsome Susan (Maria Dizzia) who speaks no French but in a rare moment of instant chemical gaze we can see that she and Jacques connect. Susan hires Jacques to be her guide while she is in Paris - and then we see them no more. The scene changes to 3 months later when Jacques comes to Susan's home in New Jersey, meets her brother Bailey (a brilliant role for James Gandolfini),...

James Gandolfini plays another "Jersey Guy", but way different from Tony Soprano. Nice small film
This small independent film puts Sopranos' star James Gandolfini back in northern New Jersey in a small seaside resort town (which is never identified by name.) This time he is not a gangster but a single guy, who once had a high school sweetheart (the girl who, literally, lived next door) but she married one of his "best friends". He now runs the train ride in the small amusement park owned by that "friend". When his sister goes off to Paris and doesn't come back he is forlorn until a man from France comes to visit him and ends up changing his life forever. To tell you any more would spoil the surprises and drama that seep out slowing in the 93 minute film. Gandolfini gets a lot of screen time and his range of emotions is well chosen. The rest of the cast is excellent two including actress Famke Janssen (X-men) as the former girlfriend, now the mother of a developmentally disabled teenager.
I'm sure this film played very few theaters but it's the kind of film that's great to...

More From The Jersey Shore: Good Performances Distinguish This Downbeat Character Piece
Maybe it's just me, but the Garden State always seems to be the setting for downbeat family dramas. "Down The Shore" is just one more example of desperate souls living in disappointment and regret as the world they knew crumbles around them. If you watch a lot of indie films, you will instantly recognize the template that characterizes many of these stories. Therefore, I was initially wary of "Down The Shore." I was afraid it wasn't going to be able to offer me anything new. And in many ways, it didn't. As the movie progresses, dark secrets are revealed, old passions are rekindled, and new betrayals are uncovered. Three childhood friends (James Gandolfini, Famke Janssen, and Joe Pope) are at the center of this tale. Their lives will come crashing down around them on deserted Jersey beaches and dilapidated boardwalk amusement parks. And yet, due to the grounded performances, I was won over by the film's intimacy and sadness.

Gandolfini plays a down-on-his luck amusement...

The Werewolf And The Yeti (Night Of The Howling Beast) [VHS Retro Style] 1975

The Werewolf and the Yeti, starring Paul Naschy aka Jacinto Molina, 1975
I have been awaiting the release of this title for 15 years. The film was originally entitled "La Maldicion de La Bestia" (the same title the DVD actually displays in the opening moments of the film) but those who put out the DVD call it "The Werewolf and the Yeti" One of the better of Naschy's werewolf flicks from the 1970's. To those who have access to putting out obscure Paul Naschy Spanish horror films I would say this: How about releasing the following three titles sometime in the near future (even bootleg copies are better than no copies at all): :La Venganza de Momia" aka "The Mummy's Revenge" (1973); "La Bestia Y La Espada Magica" aka "The Beast and the Magic Sword" (1983)-this, a Hispano/Japanese co-production-; and " El Aullida del Diablo" aka "Howl of the Devil" (1988). Maybe this can be done sometime over the next year or two! Let's hope so.

Glitchy resurrection of OOP classic
The quality of this DVD-R is not at all worth the current 14.99 price tag. First of all, my blu ray player (which has never had an issue playing DVD-Rs in the past) refused to play this disc. Luckily, my Xbox 360 was more agreeable. However, the feature is riddled with instances where the frame freezes awkwardly for a split second. It's a little distracting, but not utterly unwatchable. Aside from that, the transfer looks pretty good to me. I give two stars for providing a digital version of a Paul Naschy classic not available anywhere else in the states. I would be willing to increase to four stars if the bugs were worked out or if the price was lowered to 4.99.

This is the first review I've ever written on Amazon. I felt compelled to let people know exactly what they were receiving for the price. Had I known, I certainly wouldn't have spent that much money.

Truncated
A full 6 minutes was cut from this movie for this new DVD. This DVD ran 82 minutes. The full movie is 88 minutes This was some butcher job. Better off getting the VHS Video tape which contains the entire movie. I hate it when they do this. Do not buy.

Tiny Tumblers: Fantastic Gymnastics

Fun, engaging program!
Kari is a first-class athlete and an engaging teacher. We love this! My five boys, ages 2 to 9, all participate in Tiny Tumblers together and they remain interested throughout the program. Each skill is introduced simply and enthusiastically. My kids appreciated seeing both Kari's professional skills and the child gymnasts' beginning skills. The video has introduced my kids to a sport that they might not otherwise be exposed to, and now they're thinking that classes at a gym might not be so intimidating. Thanks, Kari, for this experience!

Tiny Tumblers
This was what I was looking for for my 3 year old. She enjoyed this kids in this dvd and the teacher was great.

Not bad - but definitely for the under 4's
I purchased this for my 4 year old daughter, who has been doing gymnastics for a few months. It's an enjoyable dvd - the presenter is keen, friendly, up-beat and entertaining, and she introduces the skills in a fun and safe way for kids to try at home.

I'd say, however, that the whole tone is really aimed at the under 4's. The songs go on a *bit* too long and are a bit too childish for my 4 year old, who wanted to know more about each skill, and how to practice it, rather than hear about it in a song.

The other disappointing aspect of this dvd is that, in many of the skills the presenter is demonstrating, the shot is framed in a such way that the lower half of her legs are cut off...which means when she's trying to show what a lunge is, for example, you can't actually SEE the lunge. The show then cuts away to a whole heap of very gorgeous little kids, all trying the skill at home...but none of them are doing it correctly either. So if you're watching and...

Family

decent timewaster
This is my first attempt to review a film that's not horror, or a documentary. This falls under the thriller category, or maybe even film noir. I do know that it's hard to describe much in the plot without giving away twists, and maybe that's a good thing, because this film is worth your time to watch.

We start out with Jean (Renee Humphrey), a small time crook, on the run from the cops. She makes her getaway, but her vehicle breaks down, leaving her to hitchhike and hope for the best in the heat. She finds luck in Eldon (Boyd Kestner) and his son Cody (Tanner Richie). They are traveling across country to see "The Real America", and they pick up Jean to ride to wherever she decides she wants to go.

We find out some things about Eldon. He is an ex-cop, a seemingly ex-husband, and for some unknown reason he clings to his newly found friend Jean. All is not what it seems on any front at all. The twists and turns are many, and the cat and mouse mind games are fun to...

Suspenseful & Intriguing
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Watched it on a rainy day and it was the perfect movie for the mood. The performances were excellent and it was totally entertaining. Would definitely recommend.

Quality core turned bland and dull by poor execution
Judge Daryl Loomis, DVD Verdict-- Family is an intriguing concept, but a pretty terrible movie. What amazes me most, though, is that it was made in 2006 and not 1996. The only thing that distinguishes it from a 20th Century movie is the kid playing with a PSP instead of a Gameboy. Otherwise, everything appears as it would have for a B-movie from the 1990s, and that's not pretty. It appears to have premiered on the Lifetime Movie Network, which makes plenty of sense, given its TV-friendly aspect ratio and generally cruddy look. Confirmation of this is difficult, though, considering that any online searches for the movie reveal mostly lists for the best family films available and, clearly, this is not what I'm looking for. By all indications, however, Family was made for television and comes with all the poor production that entails.

In its core concept, Family could easily have worked. The story of a criminal forced to do good in the face of greater evil, a kid in peril, a...

Bad Kids Go To Hell

So awful I HAVE to buy the DVD
The preview looked good. A horror version of the Breakfast Club. I started to get worried though when the main character crashes his car in an empty parking lot. A piece of paper blocked his windshield, then rather than just stop in the empty parking lot, he continued to accelerate and drive around blind until he drove into a light pole. Scary.

The next sign was the incredibly bad CGI cockroaches. Wouldnt it have been better, cheaper and easier to get a couple real cockroaches? Then we meet the main characters. All look like their in their mid 20's or older. The actress with the mega eyebrows playing the prom queen looked anorexic. The goth girl looked real rough especially when her makeup washes off. Like Lindsey Lohan on a bender rough. Both these girls need an intervention. BUT, the headmaster played a good part, the jock, the hot brainy chick, the janitor and Nelson from the original Breakfast Club all do a good job.

Then we get to the flashbacks of...

"Bad Kids Go to Hell" Is Worth Watching
The title of this neat little plot twister is unfortunate. I'm therefore guilty of judging a book by it's cover and this movie by its title. Shame on me. But, I happen to think Ben Browder is a gem of an actor and a canny one, to boot. What could possibly entice him into a bad movie? So I decided to give it a look...and I'm glad I did.

As I said, it has a neat plot twist and some very comic moments to keep the blood and gore from totally taking over. In that regard, the casting of the disabled student is a masterpiece. I'm sure that in one instance, the fact that he looked exactly like Beeker the Muppet was not a coincidence. I did have a problem with the roaches in one respect. Sure, they're like "bad kids" in that they are hard to get rid of, but considering how rich the school is, while the kids may be there, the insects would have been visited by Orkin, I'm sure. If you're a fan of the genre, which I prefer sheer fright to gore, you'll note there is...

Fun movie - Faithful to the comic
In a category of Indie horror/ teen thrillers, this is a fun and well put together film. I would even say that it comes close to the same quality as the studio level releases. There's some good TnA, some nice gore and some scary moments that will generally keep you entertained. Plus, it's shot a lot better then most indie films and will leave you much more satisfied then the normal indie shlock that groups like Asylum puts out.
It's faithful to the comic book with a few adjustments to add to the over-all plot. So if you've read the comic, you'll know basically what's coming but it's fun to watch.

Craig Shoemaker: Daditude

Shoemaker Returns With A Set That Balances Nostalgia And Edginess
Rubber-faced comedian Craig Shoemaker returns in the Showtime stand-up special "Daditude" and it's good to see him again. I've followed the talented Shoemaker for more years than I care to admit. You might even say that we've officially pushed into middle age together. It's always a bit concerning when an edgy comedian approaches maturity and turns into a proud family man. There is a possibility that he'll simply become too mellow to push the boundaries of comedy impropriety. With Shoemaker naming this tour "Daditude," I was afraid we might be seeing a kindler and gentler act than we've become accustomed to. And in minor ways, that is somewhat true. Shoemaker certainly embraces his age and much of his material deals with this new disconnect with a younger population. In fact, in a running gag, he explains many of his jokes to an eighteen year old in the audience because his references are generally before her time.

In that way, Shoemaker's reflections have a...

not that fresh but still very funny!
I'll start by saying I think Craig Shoemaker is terrific, he is super funny,a great singer actually, capable of incredible impressions and my favorite thing about him is his knack for nostalgia and contrasting the childhoods of the baby boomers with the current generations. I should also add I was at this show when it was filmed here in Southern California ,nearly two years ago.

The reason I titled my review as I did , is simply that in the three stand up DVDs Craig has out... he repeats his best bits , often. In fact about 75% is the same disc to disc and show to show , with slight variations. Unlike Carlin, Miller, Reagan, Titus and others who work for a couple of years polishing new material and then FILM THAT SHOW, Craig is always filming a version of his only show.... BUT IT IS A REALLY FUNNY ACT!

I guess what I'm saying is, if you don't have one of his DVDs... starting here is as good as anywhere. If you already own...

How to Deal [HD]

It's NOT a romantic comedy
New Line has sold this movie short and filed it as a Romantic Comedy but I must stress it is not. It's a teen drama with some romance and humor. Think of it as a teen version of American Beauty. Though it's all rather light, How to Deal does have some seriousness and important parts.

Mandy Moore (marry me?) is Halley Martin, a teenage girl who refuses to believe that true love exists (like me). Her best pal does but is heartbroken when her boyfriend drops dead on the football field of a heart defect (err...like me). Halley's parents have split and found others, her sister is engaged to some guy and all they do is argue. It seems like the best way to deal with love is to avoid it.

All that changes when Halley meets Macon (stupid name) a geeky Star Wars nerd. He seems like a dweeb at first but his character grows on you, as he does Halley. He's played by Trent Ford and on the cover he's wearing a white vest and is marketed as a sexually neutral, non-threatening...

This Movie was good...
When I heard that Mandy Moore was starring in this movie, I immediatey found more info about it. I liked the discription but I didn't get to see it a the theater. I got the DVD for Christmas and I really liked it. I think that Sarah Dessen's two books are better seperately (especially Someone Like You), but then I think that about every movie that's made from a book. Books just have bettter detail. Mandy's character was well portrayed; Halley acted basically like a normal teenager. I really felt like I could relate to her. Scarlett (Alexandra Holden) was in a position that lots of teenage girls are in, and I really liked the issues in this movie. It looked at teenage sex realistically and tells it like it is. The romantic parts were fun to watch. I really liked Halley and Macon (Trent Ford) together. I especially think this movie would be good to watch if you are trying to deal with divorce or any of the issues in this movie because people can relate so well to the situations. This is...

Offensive Anti-Male Propaganda
This is a ridiculously overheated attempt to cast all guys in the same unflattering light. The reason I find it offensive, it is aimed at teenage girls and really provides them with a distorted view of men. Each male character in this movie is presented as a jerk, a wimp, a loser, etc, etc. Don't believe it, there are decent guys in the world.

On top of all that, the movie has no real narrative center. The main character (Mandy Moore) basically reacts to everyone else around her. We never get a feel for who she is, or why we should relate to her in any way. The side characters, while more interesting, are presented so haphazardly that they aren't well-developed either.

I'd give it one star, but Mandy Moore is cute and fun to watch.

I have always been attracted to the rave culture, and I love the electronic music genre but I never really ventured into the world of the underground electronic music and dance scene until after I watched this movie (saw it first on the big screen when it came out to theaters in SF). The basic premise of the film: people in the scene are given the opportunity by the filmmaker to express their opinions on the differences between commercial music and DIY electronic music and the culture associated. It shows the good and the bad that the underground has to offer.

Inu X Boku Secret Service: Complete Collection

An Excellent Fantasy Comedy and Love Story
This is a great Anime that is more unexpected then typical fantasy comedy romance ones. The story starts with Ririchyo a Girl who comes from a very wealthy family whom is sent to live in a special Hotel with other special wealthy people who each get their own Personal Body Guard. This one starts very typical with a few silly moments put in here and there. Until it gets to a point where some would be thieves decide to rob the residents. Its then revealed that the reason for the tight security and the Body Guards is not to Protect the Residents from the outside, but actualy to protect the outside from the Residents. Every Resident and Body Guard are not what they seam and are actualy quite powerful and dangerous if they want to be. In addition to this revelation, the viewers are also introduced to a budding love story between Ririchyo and her would be Body Guard. What makes this an excellent series is how it introduces the Audience to all the characters. A background is given...

Disturbingly Entertaining
What can you say about an anime based on an ongoing manga that looks at the supernatural through the lens of two principle characters that hate themselves yet are trapped by their demonic ancestry? Both creepy and cute, arousing yet ridiculous, Inu X Boku SS is not a series for everyone.

This DVD collection offers all 12 episodes from the series along with another "episode" that appears to be three shorts that I had never seen before. The shorts do require that you see the series to fully understand but no one in the client-agent class of residents from this apartment complex is left out. These shorts also touch upon later issues of the first manga series.

Personally I found the English voice actors to be good but there were a few awkward moments when they spoke over each other and a voice seemed out of place; that's an issue for the English version director. The subtitled version does not seem to have these issues.

A very unusual romance with...

Humorous and entertaining.
Has quite a few different ending credits so be careful before skipping ahead. Had only watched the 1st episode prior so it was very nice that the rest of the season stayed true. Dont be fooled by the cover, the humor takes priority.

South America Quest Of Wonder

This is a very well done documentary on South America
The photography and places visited on this film are extraordinary. Very well worth watching. I learned some things here that I never knew existed before. Very beautiful photography and full of information to really make you want to experience a trip to see these sights in person.

Set Back in South America
Boring. Especially the long segment on the statues on Easter Island. And his conversations with these self-important people with mainly tourism interests? Uninteresting
Same old talk of Preservation Conservation and the importance of maintaining cultures. They sound like National Geographic interviewees from 30 years ago. No one cares what they are talking about.

Fantastic video.
This is a wonderful DVD with top quality video of diverse areas of South America.

It is good enough that I would immediately purchase a Blu-ray version of this production if and when available.

Paranormal Movie

No Subtitles? seems inconsiderate. Overall AWESOME !
I mean it's illegal to design & construct a building without handicap access. This film has the common issue of frequent fluctuations in sound FROM EXTREMELY QUIET DIALOGUE (which expedites with humorous adult oriented one liners to keep the audience entertained) TO LOUD MOANING & MARIACHI MUSIC. I wouldn't mind the broad fluctuations in audio if i could follow along reading subtitles while keeping the sound at a constant level. Obviously my real problem is that i don't have a remote control for my surround system because I'm a BUM, but that's a different issue I believe. The 2nd half of the film has a fairly constant level to be fair. Subtitles Please.

The Movie itself. Seems pretty funny with surprising celebrity cameos from the likes of Jake Busey & Kevin Sorbo, etc. Kevin Farley is not his brother Chris and it's not fair to try and compare this film to what the project could've been had it been helmed by Chris Farley (though honestly i have imagined). I LOVE SPOOF films...

Why did we do this to ourselves
Bad movie, not even worth the stupid humor, and I usually can get into some stupid humor!! Do not watch.

NICE TRY -- IT'S JUST NOT FUNNY ENOUGH
There has been a recent flux of found footage spoofs including this one from comedic actor Kevin Farley. Although there are some funny bits, they come too far apart to maintain the laughs. Satire IMO needs to be paced just right to be truly effective. For instance, the silly seizures of demonic possession are funny the first two times but Farley just overdoes it. Some of the cameos work well: eric Roberts, William Katt, Kevin Sorbo, Jake Busey, Robert Hays and Quintin Aranson. The Jack Goff character isn't one iota funny--just excessively crude.
I haven't seen A HAUNTED HOUSE yet but I'm hoping the Wayans Brothers do it right!

Bryan's Brain

Great Show
I absolutely love this show! Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant talk to Karl Pilkington about everyday situations and how Karl handles/deals with life. Sometimes Karl's ideas do seem like an idiotic at first but after thinking about it for awhile he is actually quite brilliant. It is annoying that at this time we can only buy the digital version by the episode instead of the entire season like we can with the first and second seasons. Hopefully Amazon will fix this soon.

Buyer Beware
This is a great season of The Ricky Gervais Show. Its more of the same shenanigans from Ricky, Steve and Karl set to hilarious animation. HOWEVER i was quite upset when i put in the second disc to watch the last few episodes and they werent there. Instead its just the special features. I was quite angry and feel ripped off, hopefully Warner Archives fixes this.

must buy
Love, Love, Love Ricky Gervais! great product. All Three characters Are Lovable In Their Own Way. Hope They Never Quit Creating These Podcasts

I Shot JFK: The Shocking Truth

"I don't have any theories. All I have are the facts."
This is what my friend retired FBI agent Zack Shelton said about our investigation.

Let me first comment on the 1 star review from Sunnyreader. First of all it is incorrect that Files is not in any files. Just google for "Evidence for James Files continues to grow".

Secondly, Sunnyreader refers to Robert Groden as an authority on the JFK assassination. Robert Groden is a firm supporter of the confession of James Files. To see Robert's comments on Files search Youtube for: robert groden james files

Thirdly, Sunnyreader rates the new books by Richard Belzer, Dead Wrong and Hitlist, with 5 stars:

"Fantastic book!, Run, do not walk, to get this book! I loved their last book "Dead Wrong"- this one is even better. Highly recommended."

Richard Belzer is also a firm believer of James Files. In fact a large part of the JFK chapter in Dead Wrong is devoted to James Files. I quote from the book:

"Former FBI Special Agent Zack...

James Files and the Head Shot.....
Jim Marrs and Wim Dankbaar interview James Files in jail where he says he fired the head shot from the grassy knoll giving detail
of how he was involved in the crime of all time.Files explains how he worked for the CIA and the Mob as an assassin, worked with
L.H.Oswald who had the same CIA controller as himself. He also states that the CIA wanted to call off the assassination but the Mob in Dallas said no,it goes ahead regardless.I find this man convincing as a shooter on that day and surely deserves to be put
before an independent panel of judges to cross examine him. This dvd runs for 90mins and is one of many watchable dvds from
producer Wim Dankbaar including The Grassy Knoll just released, compelling viewing for those with an open mind.

Engaging.
In this DVD, James Files, confessed assassin of JFK, is interviewed By Jim Marrs, author of Crossfire: The Plot that Killed Kennedy. In this interview made in 2003, James Files takes the viewer on a journey, explaining why he did it, how he did it, why he is alive, and why he will never be charged with the murder of John F. Kennedy. This is culmination of an investigation which SHOULD have taken place in December of 1963. Instead, we got a bogus investigation, no trial and no actual conviction of Lee Harvey Oswald, since well he was conveniently killed on live television, with the entire country watching.

If Lee Harvey Oswald DID NOT shoot JFK. Then did this man do it?

Have you ever asked yourself if you really believe what your told in school about American history or world history in general? Most of what we are taught in elementary school about American History is wrong, when I look at our history now with a different set of eye glasses on. I cannot believe...

Blissful Lies

i loved it
I was sitting on the end of my seat through the whole movie. I was a great movie very suspenseful.

great movie
if you like
Leann hunley as an actress get this movie for it is really good. the packaging was in perfect shape and their was no damag to it at all

Anything with Leann Hunley gets Five Stars from Me!
I love Leann Hunley as an actress. She won me over instantly as Anna DiMera on Days of Our Lives. And now I will watch her in anything. She is convincing in every role she plays!

UPDATE: I finally watched this and Leann Hunley reminded me why I love her as an actress. She truly did make this movie, in my opinion. When an actress is well-known for a particular role, as we all know and love Leann as Anna Dimera, it is hard to not see the character she is known for when watching the actress in another role. As soon as the storyline developed in this movie, however, I completely forgot Leann as Anna DiMera, as this character was (in many ways) a marked departure from Anna DiMera. It truly gave us a chance to see sides of Leann's acting abilities that were amazing to watch, as we saw Leann reach deep insider herself and pull out so much angst.

Yes, there was so much angst in her character that we rarely got to see in Anna (so special when we do see it in Anna though...

Baby TV: Musical Instruments

For Grandbaby
Purchased this DVD for my grandson. His parents are with a different TV programming provider and don't have the Baby TV channel which I do. While he is just four months old, he really enjoys watching the tiny and bright characters on this DVD.

Wubbzy: Best of Walden

Walden's First-Ever DVD Collection
This year I have had the chance to watch a few new cartoons that I have never heard of before. Last weekend, I watched the DVD Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Best of Walden, which I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! aired from 2006 to 2010 on Nick Jr., totaling fifty-two episodes (two segments per episode) and two movies.

The Best of Walden DVD features six episodes about Wubbzy's friend Walden, who is the bookish, kindhearted, science nerd of the series. In these six twelve-minute episodes, Walden bakes a marshmallow lasagna, finds a strange elephant-like-creature in his yard, catches the Chickenitis, collects figgety-fig leaves, learns how to swim and how to be cool.

The episodes on the single disc are:

Perfecto Party
Mr. Cool
Walden on the Beach
Woozy Walden
Goo Goo Grief
The Last Leaf

Bonus Features are:

Coloring Activity Sheets
Music...

Encourages Individuality and Imagination
My kids have always been Wow Wow Wubbzy fans so they were thrilled to watch Best of Walden, the third in the "Best of" Wubbzy DVD series. Walden is Wubbzy's loveable friend known for his intelligence and creativity.

I've always loved the unique magical world Wubbzy and his friends live in. The bright color and distinct shapes really capture pre-schoolers attention. Their silly humor has my kids laughing all the way through and there is nothing my ears love more than the sound of my children's laughter.

While Walden may not be the "coolest" character, I loved the episode Mr. Cool where his friends encourage him and convince him that he is in fact cool and doesn't need to change who he is! I think it's such an important lesson for toddlers to realize that being cool doesn't mean being just like everyone else. I want my kids to feel free to be themselves and not try to fit into the mold of what society deems cool.

"Don't try to be something you're not" is...

Wow, wow, Walden!
This is the compilation of the best Walden episodes as voted by the fans. Walden learns how to be cool yet stay true to who he is. Learns how to be honest with his friends about things he's afraid of (swimming at the beach) & much more. Walden may be the smart one of the group of friends but he is also very adorable with charm & an Australian accent. Kids can learn a lot from Walden & parents can feel safe with their kids watching it.

The Sorcerer and The White Snake [Blu-ray]

Fantastic Movie
This was a great movie. I was truly surprised how good it was. There were some fantastical Kung Fu scenes, but the story was not soley about Kung Fu. As another reviewer said it was a re-telling of a legend. The film was visually stunning and rich. The character development was average but spoken reference to the main characters back stories helped fill in the gaps. one of the many things I loved about this film was its boldness of stepping into the realm of old asian cultural mythology and presenting it as a reality that all the characters in the film accepted as their reality. It was a cautionary tale of love between humans and demons, an exploration of the Jet Li's assumptions (as the head of a buddhist monastery), a demonstration of faith by the buddhist monks, and a beautiful but subtle revelation of layers of buddhist belief, which unfortunately will be missed by the average american viewer. All of this in a Jet Li Kung Fu movie! what could be better? I love this film and will...

Beautiful and Super Sweet
This was a very sweet film, more than I expected. The imagery is really beautiful. It's a simple story told simply. It reminds me of the fairytales I read to by daughter. However, it is increadibly touching love story and pulled tears from both my husband and I. It was a pleasant surprise.

Beautiful Love story...
This movie is a combination of love story, kung fu, and art. It s not a pure kung fu art movie but in a love story side, please read words and you would see how beautiful it is.

Fold Crumple Crush: The Art of El Anatsui

An Exciting View into the Real Life of a Great Contemporary Artist
I have been following the career of El Anatsui for a few years since I first saw his astonishing tapestry-like works constructed from discarded metal. I have experienced numerous shows at his New York gallery and in academic and museum venues. During his retrospective at Wellesley College, I heard him speak and participate in a discussion about his work. I have read scholarly essays about his art, its antecedents, cultural influences, method of working, etc., but this video is the first time that I have been able to gain insight into what his life at home and in his studio is actually like. It was a revelation to me since I am so much a product of my American cultural conditioning and lifestyle that I think everyone lives the way we do here. Now that I see Nsukka, where he has lived and taught for so many years, I find it overwhelming that his works found their way into the upper echelons of the bigtime art world even though they are so inventive and fabulous . How did it ever happen...

great artist, fine video
The celebrated Africanist, Susan Vogel, does a careful, sensitive job exploring the stupendous "cloth" hangings by Africa's foremost visual artist, El Anatsui. She surveys his methods of construction of meticulous, creative, and dazzling "mosaics" of liquor bottle caps and sleeves, stitched together with copper wire, and shows how a huge relief hanging was installed in the 2007 Venice Biennalle. The video has interviews with the modest yet articulate artist and his colleagues in Nsukka, Nigeria, and with the American critic and curator, Robert Storr.
An important addition to films on African artists.

The subject dwarfs the film
The art of El Anatsui is revelatory and imposing. The film is monotonous, repetitive, and ends by trivializing the methods and diminishing the monumentality of the artist's vision. It is worth seeing only for the glimpses of El Anatsui's works that someone - like this viewer - might otherwise not have had the opportunity of seeing in person. Subtitles would have helped to strain the often incomprehensible thickness of the spoken comments.
