Wild Kratts: Rainforest Rescue (2013)

Its ONLY 55 mins! Just 2 Episodes
Ok so it's Wild Kratts so the shows are great but ANOTHER 2 Episode DVD. Even worse is it's advertised as 180 minutes but is only 55 minutes.

I love Wild Kratts - well actually my 5 year old thinks these guys are beyond awesome and I love the education, fun adventure and no horrible super-villains in this series (the baddies are tame). My issue with this release is Kratt Komercialisation, or the law of diminishing returns.

EPISODE COUNT
1st DVD - 8 Episodes (Creature Adventures)
2nd DVD - 4 Episodes (Predator Power)
3rd DVD - 4 Episodes (Jungle Animals)
4th DVD - 2 Episodes (Lost at Sea)
5th DVD - 2 Episodes (This title)

Looking at the trend I would not be surprised to see the next release being just 1 episode on the dvd.

The last 2 dvd's are released only 2 months apart. Could easily have been a single 4 episode DVD. Less materials, less packaging, less postage. Could have put the same profit on it (charged more for...

NOT 180 Minutes!!!!
We LOVE Wild Kratts at our house! Which is why we've been waiting over a month for this newest release with much anticitpation. It arrived today and I'm not sure who was more disappointed: me or the kids, to discover there is only 55 minutes and two episodes worth of Wild Kratt joy on this dvd that was advertised as 180 minutes. I guess I should have noticed the contradiction in that they specified the two episodes included on it, which obviously, cannot add up to 180 minutes running time. They haven't finished watching it yet, but I wish I would have spent a few more dollars for the other dvd which was longer and available a month ago. Bummed.

I would have given it 5 stars, but...
I kind of don't like the new marketing strategy where only a couple of show are on each DVD. My boys are avid Wild Kratts fans (and frankly, so am I) so I wish they'd do these in seasons like the did the first time around (even though not all of the shows from the first season were even on the season 1 DVD). It would make it way more convenient and a little less wasteful, actually, to have several episodes on one disc, maybe with two discs in one box in stead of 2 shows on one disc in one box. Other than that, we love the Wild Kratts. Also, I wish they'd put the extra snippets on that they tag at the end of the shows when you're actually watching them on PBS.
